Crackle: I want something but it’s not going to happen.

Mom: You can hope.

Crackle: No, I can’t.

Mom: Sure you can!

Crackle: It's too painful for me to hope.

Mom: It’s painful for you to hope?

Crackle: Yup, you bet it is.

Mom: Why is it painful for you to hope?


Crackle: Because when I hope, I cross my fingers and squeeze hard. That is very painful. I don’t like to do it unless I absolutely need to.
